Mac eats lunch at the Pritzker Pavilion
This weekend, Dan had to go up to Great Lakes for the reserves. That meant Mac and I had the whole weekend to play by ourselves. Luckily it was sunny outside, so Saturday we decided to head over to the Art Institute to check out the new Modern wing. The museum itself is absolutely beautiful and, depending on how you feel about Modern art, there were several installations worth visiting. Mac had fun looking at all the different sculptures and paintings, but really seemed to prefer the Impressionists. What can you do...he takes after his mother! The really cool thing was that the whole event was sponsored by Target. They had all kinds of free events for kids and we even got our picture taken with Bullseye, the Target dog!
Sunday we went shopping, ran errands and did some gardening on our back deck. Every year I try to grow flowers and instead wind up spending a ton of money and killing a lot of plants. I'm hoping Mac will turn my 'black thumb' green for a change!
But the biggest news of the weekend is that Mac got his first tooth! It's his bottom left front tooth and it came as a total surprise. In fact, my friend Casey had to point it out to me (yes, horrible mother I know.) I guess I should have been suspicious when Mac was knawing on his blanket in the carseat last week...oh well.
