Apples, pumpkins and a snowstorm

Mac & Bubba

We just got back from our first annual Fall Family Weekend up in Lake Geneva with our dear friends Matt & Casey and adorable Miles, and Mike & Karen and darling Frances.

The original plan was to have everyone up to the cottage for some apple and pumpkin picking followed by cocktails and conversation around a toasty fire. Well, everything went according to plan minus the fact that it was SNOWING during our excursion. Not exactly what we had all imagined, but it definitely makes for a good story! Despite the freezing temperatures, everyone had fun drinking cider, indulging in apple donuts and watching the kids play in the pumpkin patch.

Sunday afternoon, we headed home for a special visit from Bubba, who was in town briefly for business. All of us - especially Mac - were so happy to get to spend some time catching up and hanging out with Bubba. Now if only he and Sue Sue could send their record-breaking Florida heat wave up here for a bit...
