After our wonderful trip to Italy last fall, we decided to try and make the Neumeister/Summa family vacation an annual event. This year, we chose Maui primarily because the kids are so young and it seemed like an easier trip than traveling overseas. The other reason was to introduce Dan, Mac and Paige to what used to be a regular vacation spot for me when I was growing up. My Mom and Dad joined us this year along with my sister, Laura. Unfortunately for us (but amazing for her!) my other sister, Kat, was still busy rounding out her 3-month trip through Asia.
The entire vacation was just what we wanted - scenic, sunny and relaxing! We rented and stayed at the same condo my family used to vacation at when I was a kid. The week was filled with a mix of nostalgia for me and an overwhelming sense of happiness to be able to share such a beautiful place with my husband and babies.
As we prepare to head home tomorrow, we're hoping to be able to bring a bit of sunshine and aloha spirit back to chilly Chicago!
