Grayalicious

I learned something new today that I hope none of you ever have to experience firsthand. Following major mouth trauma, it apparently takes two weeks for teeth to turn from pearly white to a lovely shade of dove gray. Poor Mac is destined to have two discolored teeth from now until they fall out (age 7 or 8 I'm hearing from the dentist?!?)

In an effort to not make him self-conscious, we've decided to completely ignore this transformation until he starts asking questions. At that point, I will pull out my motherly wisdom and tell him that gray teeth make him unique and therefore more special and beautiful. Dan, on the other hand, will tell him that gray teeth are cool and make him look tough and manly.

I guess this is one of the little squares that we'll now sew into the figurative quilt of Mac's childhood. It's all of these experiences compiled that make up the beautiful story that will one day be his own. Gray teeth, white teeth, no teeth, he's our baby boy and as long as he's smiling (and able to chew solid food!) we're happy.
