As the countdown to San Diego continues, I've been on a whirlwind adventure to hit up some of the culinary hot spots on my "must try" list.
First up: dinner at Girl & The Goat. Getting a reservation here is next to impossible, so my dear friend Casey and I decided to try and hijack a seat at the bar as soon as the doors opened at 4:30pm. We managed to snag a few stools and proceed to enjoy an amazing dinner that included skewered goat heart. Frightening to order, delicious to taste.
Next up: XOCO. This is the latest addition to the Rick Bayless empire and for whatever reason I had never made a trip. I decided to stop in randomly one Friday afternoon and was not disappointed. Although I wasn't wild about the 50-minute wait to get my chicken tinga torta, the food was excellent.
Tonight: Off to North Pond with my sister, Laura. This restaurant is located right next to our favorite Sunshine Park. Dan and I had been trying to come here before he left town, but timing never worked. Luckily my sister is visiting and was kind enough to offer to accompany me. Full recap to come later!
