A whole new ballgame

Let me begin by confirming that yes, we are still devoted Cubs fans. That being said...Wrigley is no longer a 10 minute stroll from our front door. It was only a matter of time before the craving for summer baseball became so overpowering that we'd have to go check out the Padres.
I'd never been to Petco Park but I must confess...this place is incredible! Where Wrigley is made for drunkards and diehards, the Padres stadium is made for families. There's a general admission section for $5/ticket where you can bring a picnic, sit on the lawn and watch the game. And it gets better. For an additional $5 you can get a bleacher seat and access to a kids-only ginormous sandbox.
The view from the lawn

This was the first time we brought Mac and Paige to a professional baseball game and they were in heaven. On top of being able to relax on the lawn, they had clowns making balloon animals and doing face painting (for free) plus a guy who's sole job is to organize games for the kids while the parents sit back and drink beer. I mean...whoever thought this place up was surely a parent and definitely a genius!

 Me and my pink-loving princess
Distance from me (feet) to beer. Awesome.
All that being said, there's nothing like a ball game at Wrigley to make you feel like a true fan. The memories of growing up watching games from the 8th row behind the dugout are times I cherish. It's definitely not the same, but it's a new memory and it's lovely in a different way.
