The great pumpkin hunt

Last weekend we made our annual pilgrimage to Bates Nut Farm to pick pumpkins. We timed it just right this year so Nana and Papa were able to come along and join in the fun. Pumpkin picking in California is nothing like the Midwest. There are no cute boots, cozy fleeces and warm apple cider donuts. Nope. It's an 80-degree, hundreds of people, flip flop laden mad dash to grab a pumpkin, scarf down some hand squeezed lemonade and get the heck out of Dodge. We were scurrying but we did have fun playing with the kids. The only downer was when Mac got carsick on the ride home. Luckily I had our token "maybe it will get chilly?" fleece in the back to catch the vomit. Another true Summa family adventure.

Dad? Seriously, I need to get more protein shakes. This is heavy!
