Dan and I just returned very tan and happy from our vacation in Long Boat Key, FL. We went down to visit the Summa family for a few days and to relax in the sunshine. We had a fantastic time lounging by the pool, hanging out at the beach and playing with our adorable four-year-old nephew, Sam and his equally precious one-year-old sister, Eli. I would post pictures but our camera met a very unfortunate fate as it decided to go swimming one day in the washing machine (moment of silence for the loss of our dear camera.)
We also had a chance to make some new friends on this trip as Dan's parents threw us a lovely surprise baby shower at their new house. We were able to meet all of their wonderful neighbors and to spend time with some old friends as well. Baby Summa enjoyed being the center of attention and received so many thoughtful gifts I couldn't even begin to list them all. The highlight of the evening came when everyone decided to try and come up with a name for Baby Summa. Please keep in mind that Dan comes from a very Italian family so I think we netted out somewhere between Rocco Anthony and Gino something or other. Needless to say we're going to take everyone's very thoughtful suggestions into consideration and will announce his name at a later date.
I'll post pictures of our trip once I figure out how I'm going to get them off of the memory card which, luckily, wasn't damaged in the swim. In the meantime we're already counting down the days until we get to see everyone again.
Sue, Bubba, Greg, Car, Tracey, Sam and Eli - we love you all lots and miss you already. Thank you for sharing in all of our excitement as we count down the days until we add a new member to our amazing little family. Baby Summa has no idea how lucky he is to have such an amazing group of people who love him so much!
