This weekend we headed out to Crystal Lake to celebrate an early Christmas with my parents. My sister Kat and her boyfriend Chris were also in town from London, which made things all the more entertaining. This is the first time we've met Chris and so of course we had to get him a truly "American" Christmas present. We couldn't think of a more fitting gift than a leopard print Snuggie! He may be faking for our benefit, but he's been wearing it non-stop ever since. Clearly we like him lots :)
This is also the first year Dan and I have really gotten to play "Santa" and already we've learned a very valuable lesson about buying presents. Originally we had decided not to go overboard with indulging Mac, but then ended up buying him a fairly expensive, environmentally friendly, European made wagon. Two minutes after taking it out of the box, screws started falling out of the wheels and we noticed a giant scratch on the back panel. So we immediately headed over to Toys R Us for an emergency replacement gift. Needless to say, we found a completely adorable, mass produced, never-going-to-biodegrade-in-a-landfill shopping cart for next to nothing and Mac is thrilled. Lesson learned.
