Wes (Look at that little face! Such a cutie!)
Dearest friends and family,
When I started this blog back in 2008, my intention was to share simple stories and anecdotes about our family and the things that touch and impact our lives. Today, I want to share a story about people who have done just that.
Shannon and Jason
Fast forward a few years - Shannon and Jason are stationed near Washington, DC and have two adorable little boys - Warner and Wes. Wes was diagnosed with autism a few years back and for the first time I feel like there's a teeny tiny little something I can do to help.
There is a landmark bill in Congress right now called Caring for Military Kids with Autism Act (HR2288.) One of the provisions of this bill would allow kids like Wes to get the required number of hours of therapy they need every week. This isn't currently covered under the existing military TRICARE health insurance.
Please take five minutes out of your day to visit http://blog.autismspeaks.org/2011/12/07/pearl-harbor//
where you can send your Congressman an email (which is pre-formatted) asking him/her to co-sponsor this bill. It seriously only takes a moment and you don't have to be in the military to ask for this. And it will help thousands of military families. And it will be your good deed for the day.
Thank you for your help and support!!!
