The great apple hunt

We took a trip up to Julian a few weeks ago for our annual apple-picking expedition. I seem to remember picking apples back in Wisconsin late into October but in Southern California the season apparently ends in September. We were hoping to find lots of apples but instead were met with bare trees. The good news is we didn't really care and were happy to just be outside enjoying the sunshine on yet another beautiful weekend.

We did eventually find two little apples on a tree and were able to take a bunch of previously harvested apples home. Plus, a trip to Julian means a stop at Dudley's Bakery for homemade jalapeno cheese bread and a stop at the Julian Pie Company for hands down the best apple pie we've ever eaten. Really, that makes the whole experience worthwhile!
 Ta-daaaaah!
