The New Children's Museum

We've been meaning to check out the New Children's Museum in downtown San Diego for some time but just never quite made it until this weekend. I've been trying to keep us busy with lots of fun activities and this one definitely didn't disappoint. There's no other way to describe this place than just cool. The entire museum is designed by local artists and has rotating exhibitions. This month the theme is trash, which couldn't be more perfect. Everything in the gallery right now is either made of trash or is about trash and recycling. The kids loved every minute of it and I think I found us a new Sunday hang out!
 Blowing bubbles outside
 Climbing the rock wall
 Playing inside the "rain house"
Making a rocket ship and a bird out of trash
Trash as art: who knew it could be so beautiful?!
Building towers out of wood scraps
Making gift cards out of recycled materials
And a little live music to boot! We love this place!
